Butte College Spring Plant Sale

Last week my friend, Paula from Windmill Farms , and I went out to Butte College for the Annual Spring Horticulture sale. We had a great time looking at all the wonderful plants available, everything from flowers, shrubs, trees and vegetables. Dreaming and sharing ideas together of gardening.  The students from the department are very enthusiastic about sharing their knowledge. All of the plants were healthy, strong and beautiful. Very reasonably priced, with the average price of a 1 gallon container being $5.00, then minus a 30% sale discount, and minus another 10% for Early Bird's, the 1 gallon plants were just a little over $3.00.

Snap Dragons and Sage.

Tomato plants final costs = less than $1.50 each! YUM- I can almost taste the  tomato sweetness.

This little herb garden just over $10.00

Chocolate Mint, Lemon Thyme, Parsley, Chives and Oregano.

I moved the Herb Garden into a spacious new home, just outside my kitchen door.

The Butte College Horticulture department is wonderful, especially since my youngest daughter Beth, is a attending student. A vast majority of the plants are started by the students and instructors.

All the proceeds from the sale are put back into the department. It is a wonderful way to help out the local community and flourish your garden at home.

There is another sale at Butte College on May 20th and 21st.

In addition to the annual Spring and Fall sales, you can purchase plants at any time of the year by contacting the Horticulture Department at Butte College. The variety varies depending on  the season and what they have growing at the time. I can assure you they will do their best to help you out with your gardening needs.
